NBAIS Recognition
The Senior Arabic and Islamic School Certificate (SAISC) coordinated by the National Board of Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has been approved by Osun State University Senate for admission into Arabic and Islamic Studies programmes.

Arabic Language and Literature remains under the Department of French, leading to the renaming of the Department to Department of Foreign Language Studies, which now oversees Arabic, French, and other foreign languages.

Academic Programme
A comprehensive four-year degree programme covering classical and modern Arabic literature, linguistics, Islamic heritage, and translation studies.
Uniosun Journal of Foreign Language Studies (UJOFOLS)
A departmental journal launched in 2019, published yearly, contributing to scholarship in Arabic, French, and foreign language studies
Admission Requirements
UTME / 100 Level
5 Credit passes in SSCE or equivalent including English Language, Arabic Language, and any other three subjects in not more than two sittings. Acceptable UTME score and Post-UTME screening required.
Direct Entry / 200 Level
Two NCE or Advanced Level passes in Arabic Language and any other Arts or Social Sciences subject, plus 5 O'Level credits. Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies from recognised institutions also considered.
