He currently serves as the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences, and the pioneer actiing HoD of the Department of Local Government and Developments Studies based at the Okuku Campus of Osun State University (UNIOSUN). With a rich academic lineage rooted entirely in the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, his career spans over a decade of groundbreaking research. Research Interests
Dr kayode Wakili Olawoyin"s research focuses is on the nexus between citizens' participation, grassroots engagement, and digital governance within the vast political science discipline. He has shown how local institutions can connect with the public and how digital technological tools—the Internet, Robotics and Artificial Intelligent, social media and mobile phones - can be used to objectify this. And the manner in which such digital deployment can enhance open, inclusive governance systems and sustainable development within the comparative contexts of sub-Saharan Africa. His research activities centered around but were not limited to political behaviour, local governance, politics and development studies, ICT and media studies, national government and politics, comparative politics, and peace and conflict studies. He has also contributed to knowledge by attending and presenting academic papers in several refereed local and international conferences. equally engaged in teaching and mentoring students as a Level Adviser and in several administrative roles as the Departmental Examination Officer (DEO) and the College Liaison Officer for CoE Ipetu-Ijesa Campus and presently the Acting Head, Department of Local Government and Development Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences Okuku campus.
