Current/Recent Research
Dr. Kudirat Oyewumi Jimoh’s research focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems, Intelligent Systems, and data-driven solutions for societal challenges. Her current research extends to applications in smart agriculture, climate resilience, digital health, environmental monitoring, student safety, and engineering education, with particular emphasis on developing affordable and locally adaptable technologies for resource-constrained environments.
She is currently involved in several funded research projects. She serves as Principal Investigator on the NASENI-funded project on the Development of an Electronics Digital Trainer Board for Teaching Digital Electronics, with a grant value of ₦16.5 million. She is also a Co-Investigator on the TETFUND National Research Fund (NRF) project on the Development of a LoRa-Based IoT Real-Time System for Smart Multi-Campus, funded at ₦18.77 million (2024–2026). In addition, she is a Co-Investigator on a TETFUND Institutional-Based Research (IBR) project on the Development of an Automatic Distress Detection System for Student Safety, with a grant value of ₦4 million (2024).
Her research activities involve interdisciplinary collaboration across Computer Engineering, Computer Science, electronics, agriculture, health, and other applied fields, with the goal of translating emerging technologies into practical solutions that support education, safety, sustainability, and socio-economic development. Her work also emphasizes local innovation, capacity building, technology development, and the practical deployment of intelligent systems in Nigeria.
