Current/Recent Research

This research investigates the application of Model Predictive Control (MPC) to the navigation of autonomous vehicles in environments containing stationary and moving obstacles. Using MATLAB/Simulink, the vehicle was represented with a bicycle kinematic model, while sensor information was used to detect obstacles and update the navigation path. The MPC system continuously predicted the vehicle’s future behaviour and selected suitable control actions to improve trajectory accuracy, response time and energy efficiency. The results demonstrated that MPC can support safe, adaptive and efficient autonomous vehicle navigation under changing environmental conditions.
