GREETINGS TO UNIOSUN WORKERS ON WORKER’S DAY

Read 3149 times 01 May 2017

 Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Today May 1, 2017 is another opportunity to celebrate the great men and women who continue to toil as they build human societies worldwide. Throughout the world, Africa and across our land in Nigeria, the value and essence of labour is underscored by today’s celebrations. Indeed, in our immediate environment, UNIOSUN, our story is not different from many other workers across the globe. From ground zero, our university was built to this stage through the hard work of you all.

We have committed ourselves to work through the last 12 months, therefore this holiday celebrating our toils and sweat is very well deserved. From the cleaners to the top administration, whether you consider your job as easy or difficult, it is incumbent to see the importance of today’s holiday and celebration as another opportunity to recommit ourselves to the task of taking UNIOSUN to greater heights.

The common message we all know is that the dignity of labour lies is being proud of what we do. However, I like to crave your indulgence to expand the message to include improved work ethics, renewed commitment, higher productivity and dedication. This is because as workers, we are elevated and celebrated as humans and it is only diligent work that can serve as our signature and testimonial.Dear Colleagues, finally, as we celebrate another Workers Day, I salute your resilience and commitment to our avowed match towards our university's destined greatness as conceived by our founding heroes. Rest assured of our commitment to creating a decent, transparent and conducive work environment that will ensure productivity and the welfare of all.

I like to wish you and your entire family HAPPY WORKER’S DAY. May the good Lord bless our Labour of Love.

Labode Popoola
