In a statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, the development was described as a further affirmation of the institution’s growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising and academically stable universities under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye.
The approval was conveyed in an official communication signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Secretary, following a comprehensive accreditation exercise conducted across various disciplines in the University.
The accredited programmes cut across major academic fields, including Administration and Management, Allied Health Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Education, Sciences, and Social Sciences.
The latest achievement has been widely celebrated within and outside the University community as a strong endorsement of the quality of academic programmes, modern facilities, qualified manpower, research capacity, and stable academic environment at Osun State University.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebooye, expressed appreciation to the NUC for the confidence reposed in the institution, noting that the 100 per cent success recorded by the University reflects years of strategic planning, quality assurance, and sustained investment in academic excellence.
According to him, all the programmes presented for accreditation secured full accreditation status, describing the feat as another milestone in the University’s journey towards global relevance and excellence.
Professor Adebooye attributed the achievement to the collective commitment of staff, students, the Governing Council, alumni, and other stakeholders, as well as the continuous support of the Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
He stated that the University administration has continued to prioritise quality teaching, cutting-edge research, infrastructural development, digital innovation, and uninterrupted academic activities, all of which contributed significantly to the successful outcome of the accreditation exercise.
Since assuming office, Professor Adebooye’s administration has witnessed remarkable progress in programme expansion, infrastructure development, research output, staff development, and institutional visibility, with the University consistently earning recognition for academic stability and excellence.
The latest accreditation success is expected to further strengthen the value of certificates awarded by the institution and consolidate its position as a preferred destination for quality university education in Nigeria.
