UNIOSUN membership of the ACU will also highlight the institution‟s commitment to a steadfast in social responsibility, international development and inter-university cooperation with institutions in some of the poorest parts of the world. With this development, UNIOSUN will join other Commonwealth Universities to share innovation and international best practices.

Based upon a formula devised from the UN Human Development Index (HDI), membership is divided into three categories, low, medium and high. Universities situated in Nigeria fall into the low tier. Redistributive membership subscription allows all universities, regardless of where they are located, an affordable option to join the ACU.
