It was a double honour for the duo of UNIOSUN Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council/Pro-Chancellor at the maiden convocation ceremony of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu on Thursday 21 November, 2013. The Chancellor, Oba Sijuwade was installed as the first Chancellor of the University while Professor Olawoyin was conferred with LLD (Honoris Causa). The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Dame Dr. Patience Goodluck Jonathan, represented by the Honourable Minister for FCT, Chief (Mrs.) Jumoke Akinjide, was also conferred with a doctoral degree in Public Administration.

While welcoming guests to the occasion, the President and Chairman of Council of the institution, Chief (Dr.) R. A. Adedoyin, commended Oba Okunade Sijuwade and a host of others for being instrumental to the success story of the university. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeleke Ogunwale, charged the graduands to go into the world and urged them to take over the leadership of the country and be exemplary.
One hundred and sixty six students graduated, 18 with First Class honours; 63 with Second Class Upper; 82 with Second Class Lower and three students graduated with Third Class honours.
While speaking on behalf of the other honourary graduands, Professor Olawoyin expressed deep appreciation to the authorities of the University for the honour bestowed on them. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from various walks of life; Vice-Chancellors of Universities. Council Members, Principal Officers, Provosts, Deans, Directors and Union Leaders from Osun State University.
