The prestigious grants were awarded to two exceptional research teams from the University, whose research proposals were recognised for their innovativeness, relevance, and potential impact on national development.
The first grant was awarded to Professor Kolapo Olusola-Ẹlẹka of the Department of Building, alongside his co-researchers, for their project titled: "Enhancing Buildability in Urban Infrastructure Projects in Nigeria through Innovative Construction Techniques." The research seeks to tackle critical challenges in urban development by introducing modern methods aimed at improving construction efficiency and quality across Nigerian cities.
The second grant was secured by Professor Adetunji Kehinde of the Department of Agricultural Economics and his team for a project titled: "Promoting Responsible Agrochemical Practices to Mitigate Health Risks and Enhance Sustainable Production among Arable Crop Farmers in Southwest Nigeria." The study is designed to promote safe agrochemical usage and sustainable farming practices, with a focus on safeguarding the health of farmers and consumers while enhancing agricultural productivity.
