About the Directorates:


The Office of Linkages and International Partnership (OLIP) is a Directorate under the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. It is the centre of the University and serves as a link between the University and other institutions globally. The Unit existed initially as the Directorate of Research and Linkages and was saddled with the responsibility of collaborating with other Institutions. In March 2020, the Linkages and International Partnerships was created from Research and Linkages and stands as a Directorate.
The Office of Linkages and International Partnership works in coordination with the existing units of the university by establishing, managing, and sustaining collaborations on areas of mutual interest using the principle of reciprocity. These collaborations are formalized through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and/or Letter of Agreement (LoA) on several undertakings such as faculty/student mobility for research, lectures and discussions, joint conferences, research engagements and programmes, exchange of academic materials/publications, and capability-building activities.

Vision:

To expand the frontiers of international relationships of Osun State University by coordinating its external relations to maximally exploit the benefits of local and global partnerships to drive teaching, research, and community service in line with the vision statement of Osun State University.

Mission:

Our mission is to build the profile of Osun State University nationally and internationally through partnering with high profile institutions in line with the mission statement of Osun State University.

Core Duty/Function of the Directorate:

In line with the overall objective of achieving the mission and vision of the University, the Directorate of Linkages and International Partnerships is charged with the following functions:

i. To identify and explore areas of cooperation and linkages with foreign and local institutions;
ii. To promote academic cooperation with local and foreign Universities in form of students and faculty exchange programmes, joint research, exchange of publication, sponsorship of conferences and other academic activities;
iii. The directorate initiates, plans, implement and monitor linkage activities;
iv. The office also participates in the implementation of the student exchange programme with partner Universities by facilitating the application and endorsement of students who wish to participate in the exchange program with local or foreign Universities.
v. To assist foreign students who are studying in the University under the benefit of a Memorandum of Agreement between their home University and the institution.

Roles of the Directorate:

(1) Helping Departments and Units of the University to develop and nurture strong local and international academic linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations.

(2) Developing and formalising partnerships by signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) and other agreements after necessary contacts and negotiations, in order to take partnerships from paper to reality.

(3) Initiating, facilitating and supporting staff participation in international academic and research exchange programmes for capacity building.

(4) Promoting and coordinating activities and services with international exchange scholars and students, to ensure quality of international students experience and exposure.

(5) Informing Faculties, Staff and Students of international resources and opportunities available at any point in time by assisting Staff and Students with information on the existing partnerships within and outside Nigeria.

(6) Assisting Staff and Students to determine which partnerships to pursue, and how to manage their global engagement activities in a planned and coherent way.

(7) Identifying the institution particular geographic or academic priority areas for new collaborations with a view to deepening and expanding existing relationships, or cull out inactive partnerships and those that no longer align with collaboration goals.
