Epidemic of Ebola Heamorragic Fever as occurred in West African region involving the countries of LIBERIA, SIERRAL LEONE, GIUNEA, NIGERIA and Ghana as at Sunday 10th August . This is the worst Ebola epidemic to-date in history. As at yesterday 10th August the death toll is about 932 out of about 1600 infected people, this gives a case fatality rate of about 72%. So, acute disease is almost a death sentence as at today. Therefore, prevention is the only sure way of safety.
The Senate, Management, Staff and Students of Osun State University hereby send good wishes to Prof. Gabriel Adesiyan Olawoyin SAN, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, on his 75 Birthday. Prof. Olawoyin turned 75 on Thursday, July 31, 2014, an event which was humbly marked by close family members with prayers and praises to Almighty God.
The Council of Osun State University has appointed Engineer Samson Aderemi Adepoju as the Director of Works and Maintenance. Engr. S.A. Adepoju, is a distinguished Mechanical Engineer and an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. An indigene of Ilesa East Local Government. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University with a Second Class Upper Division degree in Mechanical Engineering in July 1982.
The Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology of Nigerian Universities has commended the Governor of the State of Osun and Visitor to Osun State University, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola for the construction of Osun State University Faculty of Engineering Building which is one of the biggest Faculties of Engineering in Nigeria.
