Biosketch:

Professor Gbadamosi, Olaide Abass holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in law. He attended the Nigerian Law School, where he bagged the Barrister of Laws Certificate. He is also a holder of the professional qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, respectively. He has served in different administrative capacities at Osun State University such as Ag. Head, Department of Public and International Law - 2010 – 2015; Provost and Dean, College of Law -  2015 to 2019; Chairman, Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors - 2017 -2019; and Chairman, University Central Admissions Committee - 2017 – 2019.

 He is a member of some professional bodies such as Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch; Nigerian Association of Law Teachers; International Bar Association; West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA); Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom; Chartered Institute of Marketing,  United Kingdom; Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, United Kingdom; Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management; and Nigerian Marketing Association.

Professor Olaide Gbadamosi is an External Examiner/Assessor to 20 Nigerian and Foreign Universities. He has also, in an external capacity, successfully examined 72 postgraduate students, including sixteen PhD students, six M. Phil Thesis and fifty LL.M students. He has more than 100 publications to his credit, including acclaimed textbooks viz Reproductive Health and Rights; African Perspectives and Legal Issues in Nigeria; HIV, Human Rights and Law, and International Perspectives and Nigerian Laws on Human Trafficking.

His research interests include Migration Law and Reproductive Rights. He has won many grants from the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters; United States Office to Monitor and combat Trafficking in Persons, United Nations Office of High Commissioner on Human Rights under its Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery, United Nations Office of High Commissioner on Human Rights, under its Voluntary Trust Fund on Torture’ Counter Trafficking Initiative Project funded by the Governments of Italy, Netherlands and Norway and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as well as grants from Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Nigeria.

He was awarded the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by Legal Practitioners Privileges  Committee, Supreme Court of Nigeria, Abuja, Nigeria on the 28th November 2022. He has presented papers in many conferences, including the International Bar Association Conference held in Washington DC, USA; the Law and Society Association conference held in Minneapolis, Gambia; Sweet and Maxwell Conference on Human Rights held in London, to mention but a few.
