Biosketch:                                                                                                                                                

Michaeline Asuquo Isawumi is a Professor of Ophthalmology.  She is currently the Provost, College of Health Sciences, Osun State University. She has held several previous positions of responsibility such as Ag. Head of Ophthalmology, LAUTECH, Osogbo; Ag. Head of Department of Surgery at Osun State University; Acting Dean, Faulty of Basic Medical Sciences; Acting Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, and Acting Provost,  College of Health Sciences. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and World Society for  Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.  She has won several international grants, Fellowships  and scholarships. An upcoming one is the Grief International Fellowship from Ohio State University for 2024-25. Training of junior colleagues up to the level of Post Graduate Fellowship and Post  Fellow subspecialty is one of her interests, and uses UTH Osogbo as center of training for Nigerian Paediatric  Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society. Her research focus is  paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, community ophthalmology, low vision and prevention of childhood blindness.
