Biosketch:

Abiona Odeyemi is a Senior Lecturer and a Consultant Physician and Pulmonologist with particular interest in lung infections, lung function in chronic illnesses and sleep medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB,BS) degree and a Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Pulmonology subspecialty. He is the author of several research papers published in both local and international peer-reviewed journals. Some of his research grants and awards include the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene small grants programme 2021 and best abstract prize, Resident Doctor Category, Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Thoracic Society, Uyo, 2015. He is an active member of a number of professional societies such as the Nigerian Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society, and Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He is currently the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Thoracic Society and the Head of Department of Medicine in the College of Health Sciences of Osun State University.
