Biosketch:

Dr Abimbola Odeyemi is the Head of Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, College of Health Sciences at the Osun State University. She specializes in Paediatrics respiratory disorders and infectious disease. She has been involved in many researches as lead researcher and she has publications in several peer reviewed local and international journals. She is one of the authors of a medicine textbook; Companion to Tropical Medicine. She is currently working on community acquired pneumonia among under-five children.

Dr Odeyemi obtained her bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of surgery (MB;BS) degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, Nigeria. She obtained her fellowship of the West African College of Physicians and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2018. She did a postgraduate Program in Paediatric Nutrition organised by the Boston University School of Medicine. She joined the Osun state University in 2022, she is currently a Senior lecturer at the Department of Paediatrics, College of Health Sciences of Osun state University and an honorary consultant Paediatrician at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State. She is a member of some learned societies including the Paediatric Association of Nigeria, the Nigerian Thoracic Society and Medical and Dental Consultants association of Nigeria.
