Biosketch:
Lukman Olaide SALAMI is a Lecturer I in the Department of Civil Engineering, Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria where he lectures on Highway and Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering Drawing and Engineering Survey and Photogrammetry. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria in 2023 with specialization in Highway Materials and Engineering. He is the pioneer Ph.D. graduate of the Department. Earlier, he had bagged a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from University of Ibadan (2018) and a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State (2015) in Civil Engineering. He is a registered Civil Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) with the registration number: R. 49,062.
Dr. Salami has worked as a Site and Resident Engineer on roads and buildings. He has taught Mathematics in about three secondary schools before he joined the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, as a part-time lecturer in 2018. He later joined the services of Adeleke University as a Lecturer II in September 2019 where he rose through the ranks in this University to a Lecturer I, Postgraduate coordinator of the Department, Departmental Examination Officer, Departmental Academic Secretary, Students’ Staff Advisor, Chairman Faculty of Engineering Time-Table Committee, Faculty of Engineering Representative on University’s Research, Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Induction Committee for Engineering Graduates, Departmental Representative, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Committee on University’s Results Management System. While in Adeleke University, he won the Best Lecturer Award in 2020/2021 Academic Session asides winning an award as the Most Published Researcher in 2022/2023 Academic Session. He joined the services of Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria on 8th January, 2024 as a Lecturer I, in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Dr. Salami has published over twenty-two (22) papers in both National and International Journals and he has also presented papers in both local and international conferences. His research interest focuses on innovative materials in construction; pollution mitigation; environmental sustainability; sustainable concrete pavement technologies and enhancing engineering properties of asphaltic concretes.
