Mr. Marcus Oladepo Awobifa joined the services of Osun State University in January 2008 as a Chief Confidential Secretary, and was converted to the post of Senior Assistant Registrar with effect from 8th October, 2008.  Prior to his appointment in Osun State University, he had worked in public sector to be specific in the Civil Service in Oyo State and later Osun State between 1982 and 2007.

He holds Bachelor of Public Administration in 2007 from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from LAUTECH, Ogbomoso in 2012.

Since his appointment, Mr. Awobifa had served in various offices and has combined the qualities of an astute administrator and a good communicator to distinguish himself in all assignments given to him. He has also accumulated relevant experiences that enhanced the quality of his performance as an administrator from public sector. Mr. Awobifa has consistently portrayed qualities that have added value to his profession. He has demonstrated high level of discipline and dependability that has made him a role model in the system. He demonstrates good knowledge of University administration.

He worked in the Corporate Affairs Unit from 2008 to 2014 and laid the technical foundation for the take-off of the Graduate Support Office.  He worked meritoriously and rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Registrar in 2017 and was later appointed the Director, Advancement Office. 

Mr. Marcus Oladepo Awobifa has attended many conferences both locally and internationally. He is a member of many professional bodies amongst are Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA). He has served in several Committees within and outside the University. He was a member of selection team for foundation staff of University of Science and Technology, Ifaki-Ekiti (USTI) in March 2010 and a member of the selection team for foundation staff of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, Edo State in September 2011.

In 2016, he served as a member of Council Search Team representing Congregation on the appointment processes of the Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University. He was the immediate Secretary of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-owned Universities in Nigeria and served the Committee for three years and grew the income of the Committee from N8 million to N95 million.
